SETAM, the lift company in Val Thorens, sells passes online and at its offices in resort. Buying in advance online doesn't save you any money, but it might save you time queueing at a ski pass office.
You can buy online, and have your pass posted to you, as long as it's at least 10 days before your trip; buy online and collect your pass from a machine in resort; or, if you already have a pass from a previous visit, you can re-charge it online.
There are still ski pass offices with real people who sell passes. In resort, they are at place Péclet, in the rue piétonne de Caron, and at Montana rue du Soleil. On the piste, they are at the Funitel Péclet, and at the Cairn-Caron lift station near parking P4.
Where two adults for duo, or three or more adults for 'tribu', buy ski passes together, the price per pass is slightly cheaper than the single adult rate. This applies to Val Thorens and 3 Valleys, but only to passes for 6 days or more.
Prices for adult Val Thorens passes have risen by about 2.4% on 2017-18 - but more than that in some cases. For example, the adult daily rate for a Val Thorens pass has increased from €52.50 to €55.00 (+4.7%), and the 6 day rate is up from €250 to €256 (+2.4%).
Adult 3 Valley passes have increased in price by about 2%. For example, the daily adult 3 Valleys rate went up from €61 to €62 (+1.6%), and the 6 day rate from €300 to €306 (+2.0%).
For €50 extra, the Premium 3 Valleys pass includes 3 goes on the toboggan, and a spa & leisure package.
